Alvin Sella
Creative Campus christened the gallery space in its Maxwell Hall home with a very special exhibit: Alvin Sella’s first one man show at UA since 1961.
Professor emeritus of painting, 87-year-old Sella displayed his most recent paintings and collages at Maxwell from an opening reception on March 8 until April 20, 2007.

Creativity through Three Lenses
Jason Doblin crafts his ceramic masterpieces in a studio at Garland Hall. Michelle McGaha studies Industrial Engineering up the street in H. M. Comer. Dr. Cassandra Faulkner's students learn the techniques of Interior Design across campus in Doster. For the month of January 2008, however, these students' creative products shared a home at Maxwell Hall.

Elizabeth Handy
Creative Campus was honored to host a reception for internationally known authors and artists Charles & Elizabeth Handy on November 19, 2007. Co-sponsored with the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration, the invitation-only event featured an exhibition of Elizabeth Handy's work in the gallery at Maxwell Hall.

LivesStill
Inspired by the photography of Elizabeth Handy, the Creative Campus Initiative stopped everything - if only long enough for the flash of a camera. Given the limitations of only five objects and a plant, each staff member, intern and graduate assistant was charged with the task of defining him or herself.
Creative Campus opened the self-reflective exhibit with a drop-in reception on April 3, 2008. It remains on display through the end of the spring semester. Read more |
